Review by Chamila Sumanasekera

Introduction

As the number of BX motherboard users continues to grow, new products appear on store shelves day by day, and the number of board manufacturers grows as the market expands. I have seen most manufacturers redesign their first line-up or add newer & better products at affordable prices. At the moment, names like ABIT, Asus, AOpen and Microstar spring to mind. But all that’s about to change, as newer Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers are appearing every week with better boards and competitive prices.

If you’re a Super 7 user, you might have already heard about EPoX boards, featuring MVP3 chipsets. EPoX made a name for themselves by building these great Super 7 boards, and now they have gone one step further and joined the Slot 1 family, making quite a spectacular debut with a new line-up based on the Intel 440BX chipset. So the question is, can they make a name for themselves in this even more competitive field? Time will tell, while I have a look at their new 61BXA-M motherboard.
