Aliens vs. Predator : Review
Introduction

Boo! It’s got acid for blood, a separate set of jaws just to bite your head off and no eyes, and it’s wandering around somewhere nearby. Twenty years, and the Alien is still as lovable & cuddly as ever. Are we scared? Who, us? (As Calvin, of Calvin & Hobbes fame, once put it, “The word ‘scared’ isn’t even in our vocabulary…how about the word ‘mommy’?”) What is it about the Alien? Could it be that we are all at heart afraid of huge monsters with acid for blood and a separate set of jaws just to bite off your head, etc.? Whatever the reason, Rebellion’s Aliens Vs. Predator, published by Fox Interactive, is a game that succeeds in communicating that fear to us. That’s the first thing you need to know about AvP. It’s a FPS, yes, and on the face of it looks much like all FPS games- you run around killing stuff. Neat. However, this game is a little different, not so much in its approach or even in its graphics as in its intensity.

This game is intense.

Is that enough? You gotta be kidding. There’s a lot of other stuff that goes into making a great game, and we haven’t even looked at any of them yet. That’s why this is called the introduction. It doesn’t really do anything, it’s just here to grab your interest and point it in the direction of aforementioned huge monsters with acid for blood, etc., etc. Read on for the real scoop, as usual.

All the same, the game is intense. Very much so.
