Savage4
: Graphic Card Roundup
|
There
is more to the graphics card industry than the TNT2 vs.
Voodoo3 battle. This is a roundup of cards intended for
a market where stability and economy are the keywords, not
raw power.
These cards, based on the Savage4 PRO chipset, are for users
who are looking for respectable performance at a reasonable
price. Does that describe you? Take a look inside. You're
not interested if it's not the absolute top-of-the-line?
Well, take a look anyway- it's good to know what your options
are.

Creative
Labs Video Blaster WebCam 3
|
The WebCam is not a new idea. First, there were frankly
crappy webcams. Then there were good ones that were also
horribly expensive.
Then
we started getting some kind of balance between price and
performance and people started taking notice.
Is
Creative Labs' VideoBlaster (they do like to blast everything,
don't they?) WebCam III USB a worthy sequel to their WebCam
II? Read the article and find out.

Intel
Pentium III 600 Review
|
Hey,
we're at the 600MHz mark already and it's only August. What's
that? It's a PIII 600 but its not the much awaited Coppermine?
What difference does that make? Where's the Coppermine?
What is this PIII 600 all about?
While
the new processor may well have a very short reign as the
CPU speed king, it reigns for the moment regardless and
thus bears looking at.
Check
out Intel's new flagship processor...

7200RPM
ATA Hard Drive Roundup
|
Are
you tired of graphic card reviews? Graphic cards, motherboards
and CPUs tend to hold the spotlight in the review community
at any given time, but there are plenty of other components
to talk about that are just as interesting, if less glamorous.
Hard
drives, for example. As a follow up to our Ultra ATA hard
drive roundup a while back, we have their big brothers for
you- a roundup of some 7200RPM drives. Have fun.

Windows
2000 Professional Edition: Preview
|
Love it or hate it, Windows has definitely left an indelible
mark on the computer industry. The newest spawn of the Windows
family is Windows 2000, still in beta. If you're a Windows
user, you should definitely find out what's in store for
you. If you loathe the very name Windows, well....know thy
enemy.
If
you're new to all this, don't worry, this isn't an over-technical
rigmarole of what's under the hood but a straightforward
discussion of what Win2K can (and can't) do. Either way,
this is a preview you should read.

Aliens
vs. Predator Review
 |
They're out to get you… who "they" are depends on who you
are. Are you an Alien, with that cool inner set of jaws for
biting peoples' heads off, or are you a Predator, cloaked,
dreadlocked and with a bad attitude?
Oh
yeah, you can be a Colonial Marine, too, though they're
not mentioned in the title. Yes, they're out to get you…and
you're out to get them.
Happy
hunting, but read the review first…
