Over the years, Cambridge SoundWorks have earned a good reputation for their lineup of high-quality multimedia speaker systems for PC and home applications. A couple of their most highly acclaimed products are the MicroWorks 3-piece system and the Desktop Theater 5.1 system. With the recent boom in 3D positional audio, it seems that sound card manufacturers aren't wasting any time coming up with new products and APIs to go with them. All of a sudden, Dolby Digital and Pro Logic seems to be hitting you from every direction. As if that wasn't enough, Creative Labs have introduced their very own API, Environmental Audio, and Aureal 3D is also working on a second version of the successful Aureal 3D audio API. The only thing missing here seems to be quality speakers. But not to worry, top names like Altec Lansing, Cambridge SoundWorks and Labtec have been working on it. Many speaker manufacturers are offering Pro Logic and surround sound products. But the majority still use the 3-piece design, which includes one subwoofer and two satellites. Now Cambridge Sound is offering a 5-piece product for the first time- their PCWorks FourPointSurround Speaker System. So if you’re still stuck with Stone Age 2-speaker systems that came with your PC, the time has come to get rid of that piece of trash and finally give your ears a nice, rich treat. Cambridge SoundWorks’ introduction of the PCWorks FourPointSurround Sound speaker system has opened up a whole new world in true surround sound effects, which happens to be the first 4-channel PC audio system for games with 3D-positional audio at a very affordable price tag. Specifications • Satellites: Four 3 inch full range drivers
