Overview
The installation procedure of the Force Feedback
Pro is extremely simple. All you have to do is fit it to the game port
of your PC and you’re ready to play.
The Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro
is large and curvy, sleek and modern. It’s big enough to get a grip on,
so even the most gargantuan of gamers need not worry. The base is larger
than older Sidewinder joysticks, but this is to make room for the Force
Feedback technology, as well as an irritatingly loud cooling fan. You’ll
need to clear some space on your desk for it, anyway.
With a shift button that effectively doubles the
eight programmable buttons, a throttle and an 8-way hat switch, the Force
Feedback Pro is probably the most customizable joystick on the market.
Since the shift key gives every button a second function, this makes the
use of a keyboard a thing of the past when it comes to playing new-generation
games. |

The controls are quite unique. The programming
software very user-friendly and loads configurations instantaneously. It
comes with SideWinder Device Software 2.0, which includes easy-to-use drivers
and setup software. One particularly handy feature is the Sidewinder Profile
Activator in that it keeps tabs of all your games profiles, and moreover
it allows you to create your own personalized profiles for games that support
force feedback. Once all the software has been loaded, all these controls
can be accessed from the taskbar.
You can adjust the rigidity of your joystick to
your own liking by the two DC motors situated in the base. Instead of a
sliding throttle as in first-generation Sidewinder joysticks, the Force
Feedback Pro is installed with a throttle dial. |
