In the following pages, each compression technology is given a basic introduction. A screenshot of the encoding software is also posted. This is followed by the observations we made with regards to sound quality. I have presented that, first based on the three audio clips, the original PCM .WAV files can be downloaded here, and then the general impressions we had when comparing the albums we encoded in comparison to the original un-encoded .WAV files.

Please note that it is advisable that you try to download the music clips by using the "save as" feature found in many browsers. This is usually done by clicking the right mouse button while the pointer is over the link and then selecting the "save as" option.
