With its easy Plug-&-Play installation, $125
price tag and 40MB per second synchronous burst transfer rate, the ABP-940UW
is a very decent performer and a good buy. AdvanSys also offers free phone,
BBS, fax and Internet technical support, so that’s an added attraction
for the beginner. |

Diamond Multimedia include a 32-bit PCI Ultra/Ultra
Wide SCSI host adapter kit and a fairly extensive software bundle with
the FirePort 40. The software bundle consists of Diamond's UltraEasy SCSI
diagnostic utility and Elektronson's GEAR 4.0, WebGrabber 1.0 & CD
-Replicator 1.0 as a complete CD mastering solution. At a very reasonable
$130, the FirePort’s impressive software bundle and it’s decent performance
make it a solid bargain. |
