Adventure & RPG

1. Grim Fandango

Grim Fandango received the highest rating among all the games we reviewed, beating out some pretty heavy-duty competition. Set in stylishly crafted, wonderful realm of legend, laced with thick black humor, graced with a simply fascinating plot where all the characters are already dead, with some fabulous graphics and a soundtrack to make a hardened reviewer weep, this is not a game, but a work of art. Justify your existence. Dance this Grim Fandango.

2. Fallout 2

The original game was a surprise hit, and the sequel promises to be even bigger. Fallout tweaked the traditional adventure game defaults- the hero who must fight his way past weird monsters to fulfil the central quest- by putting it all into a post-nuclear-holocaust setting. The gambit works spectacularly well among those of us who are dedicated adventure/RPG fanatics but are growing tired of the old fantasy settings.

3. Quest for Glory V

Using a more traditional fantasy setting, Quest for Glory V is a borderline game balanced neatly between cerebral adventure and violent action genres. With some extremely cool 3D graphics and tremendous gameplay, Quest for Glory V will satisfy any hardcore adventurer with ease.
